How Screenry handles personal data

Last updated 11 October 2026

Who is responsible

Screenry (screenry.io) is the controller for the personal data described here. Contact us at support@screenry.io.

For the data your own screens and users produce inside the service, your organisation is the controller and Screenry processes it on your behalf.

This website

The website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. To count visits we keep the page, the site that sent you (its domain only), campaign tags in the link, the kind of device and your browser language.

Signing in to the service is different: it keeps your session in your browser for as long as you stay signed in, and remembers the e-mail address you last signed in with.

To tell one visitor from another for a single day, we keep a one-way code made from a salt that changes every day, your IP address and your browser. It cannot be turned back into either, and it changes the next day. Your IP address itself is never stored.

When you contact us

When you ask for a demo, a trial or material, we keep what you type in the form — name, work e-mail, company, role or number of screens, and your message — and where the visit came from.

We use it to answer you. We send further e-mails about Screenry only if you ticked the box asking for them; every one has a link that stops them at once.

When you use the service

For each user we keep name, e-mail, a password hash (never the password), role, organisation, and when they last signed in and used the service. Sign-ins, failed sign-ins and changes made in the service are recorded in an audit log with the time and IP address, to keep accounts and screens secure.

Players send status, telemetry and screen captures of what the screen shows. Captures are kept 24 hours behind each screen’s newest one; on the Operate and Premium plans a smaller capture every 53 seconds is also kept for 29 days, in a private storage bucket in Finland (Google Cloud, europe-north1) that only the service can read; raw telemetry 35 days; individual airing records 30 days, after which only hourly totals remain.

Why we may process it

  • To answer a request or provide the service you signed up for — taking steps towards, or performing, a contract.
  • To keep the service secure and to count visits without identifying anyone — our legitimate interest.
  • To send follow-up e-mails — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who else handles it

The service runs on Google Cloud in Finland. E-mail is sent through Resend and payments are handled by Stripe; each receives only what its task needs. Where a provider processes data outside the EU/EEA, the transfer relies on the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

Requests and the contact details in them are kept while we handle them and for as long as a customer relationship that follows needs them. Account data is kept while the account exists. Ask us and we will delete what we are not required to keep.

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable form. Withdrawing consent stops follow-up e-mails without affecting anything before it.
